Fashion in the Office
Updated: Jul 30, 2018
My mother always said “dress for the job you want, not the job you have.” That small piece of advice has been a driving force in my passion for business professional attire. Dressing up in my favorite coat, or comfortable heels makes me feel like Olivia Pope when I walk in the office. The confidence I gain from my outfits transcends into my performance at work. Dressing appropriately for the office is a great way to leave a lasting impression. Many people think that business attire is boring and predictable. However, I have found several ways to be fashionable and professional. Here’s how I incorporate my vibrant personality into business professional attire. First we must remember 3 Cardinal Rules of Business Attire for Women:
Don’t wear club shoes! Ideally, your heels shouldn’t pass 3 ½ inches so you can maintain an Olivia Pope stomp throughout the day.
Keep your hems long! To guarantee that the focus is on your work, and not on your legs try to keep all hems past the knee.
Keep it comfortable! Business days are long, and filled with unpredictable events; it’s best to make sure your outfit is something you feel good in all day.
Now that we know the 3 Cardinal Rules of Business Attire for Women, here are a few of my favorite business outfits right now. Pope and Associates
