Fashion at Work
Basketball season is in full swing, and I have the pleasure to work for the most accomplished college basketball program in the world. This week I worked an exciting game that ended in an overtime win! When you work for such an impressive organization, it is important to always show up looking your best. My internship prefers we wear darker colors, and clothes that aren't too distracting. "Dressing down" isn't the easiest task for me, but I do love to style the color black! This past game I wore all new clothes, I just bought the weekend before. Each item was bought on sale or clearance, apart from my shoes, and accessories. My outfit started with a pair of Houndstooth Pants, from Forever 21. Although, the pants were black, the bold pattern added a flare to the outfit. I paired the pants with a black Karl Lagerfeld blouse that i bought for $7.99 at TJ Maxx. The blouse is plain black with white, flare sleeve details. I wore black Tory Burch shoes, with a gold logo detail. For accessories I chose my go-to, Michael Kors watch, and Alex & Ani bracelets; as well as pearl earrings, and a classic string of pearls around my neck. It is still very cold out, so to brave the cold I wore a black, formal Betsey Johnson coat, and red, blanket scarf from Forever 21. Finally, I carried a black, patent leather Kate Spade purse with me.
The key to being fashionable and comfortable at work is wearing styles best for your body types. Additionally, a lot of the clothes I wear, I find in the sale section, so you don't need a ton of money to be fashionable. Just take time to test different looks, and see what works for you!
